Stewart sets his sights on British title
Bristol boxer Danny Stewart is anticipating a tough contest ahead of his fifth professional bout on Sunday evening when he takes on the impressive Robin Deakin.
The 22-year-old will be fighting for the WSO light welterweight novice title and is the main bout of the four-fight Bristol Fight Factory dinner show at the Thistle Hotel, which has already sold out.
And Stewart says he is keen to show Bristol boxing fans what he is made of against a fighter with 15 professional fights under his belt. He said: "He has fought all the good prospects managed by Frank Warren, so if I can beat him that will put me in the same frame as these prospects.
"If I can win this one I then want to go for an area title, then a British Masters title, then hopefully a British title.
"If I haven't won a British title by the time I stop boxing, I'll be gutted."
Also on Sunday night's card are Bristol's Adam Cummings, Henry Smith from Weston-super-Mare and Swindon's Marlon Reid, who had an outstanding record as an ABA amateur.
