Stern John may stay on with Bristol City
Stern John could join Bristol City on a permanent basis in the new year.
The Robins yesterday signed the Trinidad and Tobago star on loan from Coca-Cola Championship rivals Southampton until January 1.

But cash-strapped Saints are looking to cut their wage bill and are prepared to listen to offers for the 31-year-old striker.
John, who has scored 20 goals for Saints in 50 appearances, is out of contract next summer and Southampton are looking to cash in on one of their biggest assets.
Saints boss Jan Poortvliet said: "Stern is one of the bigger earners at Southampton and the club's current financial situation means that we are unable to guarantee him first team football and the wages that go with it.
"The way Bristol City play will better suit Stern's style and we wish him luck during his time at Ashton Gate."
John passed a medical in Bristol yesterday and joined City's squad for today's Championship fixture at Barnsley.
Robins boss Gary Johnson has been in the market for an experienced frontman for some time.
"Stern certainly adds to our striking options for what is a very busy period leading up to Christmas," said Johnson. "We have lots of games and need that competition. Stern has scored lots of goals at this level and above throughout his career and I'm happy we've been given this opportunity to sign him."
Johnson made his interest known following defeat at Sheffield United earlier this month and John revealed: "The gaffer says he's been looking at me for a couple of months and he told me of Bristol City's interest when I came back from the last international break.
"I spoke to them a few nights ago and the rest is history."
He added: "I was interested because of the way they play their football. I'm a team player. I play with my back to goal pretty well and holding the ball up is one of my strengths.
John now wants to renew his partnership with Adebola, who played alongside him at Birmingham City and Coventry.
He said: "Dele is a top man. He showed me around the club yesterday and it's great to be playing with him again."
