Station work earns award for rail group
A COMMUNITY group that aims to improve local rail services has won an award for its efforts.
Severnside Community Rail Partnership won two first prizes at the Community Rail Awards.
One award in the community arts schemes category was for artwork at Clifton Down and Redland train stations, and the other was for work with Eastside Roots Garden Centre.
The partnership also took third place for the Patchway Station Project in the local station environment on community rail lines category. Severnside Community Rail Partnership is a group that includes local residents, councils and train operators to promote the use of smaller stations.

Partnership officer Sarah Collins said: "Community rail schemes in the Greater Bristol area have considerably improved the local stations, which now have a much safer and welcoming environment.
"We are very pleased that the partnership's work has been rewarded at the community rail awards."
First Great Western was also named overall winner at the celebration for its "outstanding delivery of the community rail strategy" at the awards.

"These strong relationships with local rail groups are key to delivering the best possible service."
