I AM writing further to the letter from Peter Hack. He suggested the campaigns in response to the Area Green Space Plan proposals are being run by retired people who have a) plenty of time on their hands and b) a vested interest in keeping property prices high.

Peter's suggestions are unhelpful in relation to both causes – those of protecting green and open spaces and of providing affordable housing.

The Friends of Horfield Common have been running so people are aware of the proposals for the sale of Wellington Hill Playing Field and for the closure of the tennis courts and bowling green at the Ardagh centre, on Horfield Common.

The group is holding a meeting at the Ardagh today from 6.30-8pm if you want to know more about these.
