Chippenham Town 1 Mangotsfield United 1: Neither side benefited from this result as Mangotsfield remained at the bottom of the BGB Southern League Premier Division, while Chippenham's play-off hopes all but disappeared.

Mangotsfield easily contained lacklustre Chippenham in the first half and took the lead on 42 minutes with what proved to be their only shot on target.

Ben Swallow crossed from the left and Kyle Tooze gave Chris Snoddy no chance with a shot from just inside the area.

Swallow had created Mangotsfield's only other first-half chance when he beat the offside trap but fired into the side netting.

Chippenham saw two Marcus Palmer efforts fail to find the target, although they were unfortunate on 25 minutes when Danny Barwood kicked Kevin Halliday's low shot off the line.

The home side's Shaun Lamb headed an early second-half effort over the bar, while Scott Hendy produced Mangotsfield's only second-half chance when a corner resulted in the visiting skipper shooting wide.

On 73 minutes, Palmer's shot from 12 yards was tipped over the bar by Mangotsfield goalkeeper Josh Clapham.

Chippenham finally levelled on 82 minutes, when Kye Holly's cross ended with Palmer guiding his headed effort out of Clapham's reach.

The goal galvanized Chippenham and they were unfortunate five minutes later when Luke Gullick's strong run into the box saw Clapham stretch out a boot to save his low shot.

From the resulting corner Halliday's shot hit a defender, while in stoppage-time Scott Lye and Halliday were both narrowly off target with efforts.
