Staff go over the top for charity
A 12-STRONG team of past and present housing association staff raised £2,500 for St Peter's Hospice by abseiling down one of Bristol's tallest buildings.
The Chipping Sodbury-based Merlin Housing Society group went over the top of the 185ft Premier Inn in the city centre after going through a training session and being kitted out with all the necessary safety gear.
Team organiser Heather Stockwell, Merlin's learning and development adviser, said: "It was so good to see people coming together from across the business to do something quite mad. It was a great feeling to get to the bottom and see so many friendly faces cheering us on.
"Their support certainly helped encourage us to clamber over the wall at the top and dangle ourselves off."
