St Paul's school rated outstanding by Ofsted
A new children's centre in the heart of Bristol's inner city has been judged outstanding by Ofsted.
St Paul's Nursery School and Children's Centre, which has more than 50 pupils, almost all of whom do not have English as their first language, was said to give each child the maximum chance to flourish.

Inspectors praised the stimulating and exciting atmosphere at the centre, which opened in September.
Its aim is to maintain and build on the quality of provision on offer at its predecessor, St James and St Agnes Nursery School.
The Ofsted team said in its report: "The main reasons for its success are the visionary approach and exceptional commitment of the head teacher, which inspire and motivate the senior leaders and adults working with her. The style of shared leadership has ensured that the whole team has established a setting with the same high expectations for children, families and the local community, as the nursery school from which the centre has evolved."
In a letter to children after the visit, lead inspector Christine Huard wrote: 'Thank you for the wonderful day we spent at your school. We really enjoyed seeing all the exciting things you do. Your school and children's centre are really outstanding and we can see why you all enjoy going to school so much."
Head teacher Lucy Driver said: " We are delighted to have all our hard work recognised and are all very proud of our achievements. We have established a wonderful learning community at St Paul's Nursery School and Children's Centre and we are on an 'outstanding' journey. We are committed to keep going with this, and still have plenty more to learn and many more directions to grow in."

“Bravo ... nice to read something positive about inner city schools for a change. Good news seems pretty hard to come by these days.”
