A special event in St Paul's allowed people to have their say on local issues.

The fun day at St Agnes Park and St Paul's Adventure Playground on Thursday gave residents a chance to say what they would like to see in their parks.

It also helped keep children entertained in the school holiday.

The city council worked with community representatives from St Paul's Unlimited to plan the community event which was staged to find out how local people feel about ambitious plans to improve the park, adventure playground and the pedestrian area in Thomas Street that lies between the two sites.

Visitors on the day were able to take part in a range of activities, and there were demonstrations from young boxers and drummers.

The city council has more than £500,000 funding available for investment in the area.

This includes £263,000 from partners Places For People Group through their "Green Spaces for People" Big Lottery Fund Changing Spaces Programme and £250,000 from the Department for Children, Schools and Families through the Play Pathfinder Programme.

The fun day was held at St Agnes Park and St Paul's Adventure Playground.
