St Brendan's win secures the title
Local rugby: St Brendan's have clinched the Gloucester Three title after winning 36-10 at Gloucester All Blues with one game still to be played this season.
Saints are four points ahead of Cotham Park, who won 19-10 at Smiths.
Brendan's tries came from Kris Tavender, James Douglas (2), Dan Ford and Ben Chilvers, who also slotted three conversions.
Southmead can still clinch a promotion and Charles Saunders Combination Vase double after making sure they finished second in Gloucester Premier following their 50-0 success at Hucclecote. They will now face Somerset Premier runners-up North Petherton, possibly at home later this month, in a play-off for promotion to Western Counties North.
Anton Welling (3), James Hall, Gary Sposito, Sam Noble, Matt Rawlings and Tony Knight touched down. Danny Cotterell hit five conversions.
Southmead, holders for the last two years, meet Old Colstonians in the Combination Vase final at Clifton RFC on Thursday (7.30pm).
Colstonians lost a high-scoring game 37-28 at Drybrook, who have now clinched the Gloucester Premier title.
The Stapleton-based side's tries came from Grant Williams, Kai Daniel, who also landed four conversions, Simon Conrad and Archie Watts-Farmer.
Frampton Cotterell won for only the second time this season when they beat Gloucester Spartans 15-9.
Dean van der Morsener and Chris Kaye touched down, with Mike Ashwin landing a conversion and a penalty.
Whitehall came from 36-7 down at half-time to win 38-36 against Bristol Saracens.
Whitehall's points came from Luke Colton (2), Paul Aston, Dane Weaver, Andy Watts, and Sam Pearcey.
Dean Weaver (3) and Pearcey hit the conversions.
In Gloucester One, Ashley Down are unlikely to be relegated despite losing 43-27 to Ross-on-Wye.
Down cannot be caught by second-from-bottom Painswick.
The Lockleaze-based side's tries against Ross came from Jack Gibson (2), Andrew Morrison and Paul Glen, who also slotted a penalty and two conversions.
Old Bristolians hung on for a 19-17 win at Chipping Sodbury thanks to tries from Adam Thackwray (2) and Lyndon Davies. Rhys Jones hit two conversions.
Tom Farthing and Bernard McMullan crossed for Sodbury, with Steve Romanowski landing two conversions and a penalty.
Lee Dunn (2) and James Oakley touched down in Bishopston's 42-16 defeat to Tewkesbury. Dave Priddy kicked two penalties.
In Gloucester Two, Old Elizabethans lost 25-12 at Cheltenham Saracens. Their tries came from Ed Tofts and Chris Carter with Dom Swann landing a conversion.
Bristol Harlequins still have hope of finishing third in Somerset Premier despite losing 33-31 at Stothert & Pitt. They remain two points behind Tor with a superior points difference.
Somerset One title winners St Bernadette's were beaten in the league for the first time this season when they lost 20-12 at third-placed Gordano.
Ollie James and Ben Thomas touched down for Saints, with Chris Holley adding a conversion.
But tries from Matt Rollings, Dan Martin, Matt Polsen – who scored the only points in the second half – and Aaron French secured the win.
Imperial thrashed Old Redcliffians 2nds 56-0 thanks to tries from Martin Mundy, Nick Towe, Ben Payne (2), Gary Kitchen, James Camfield, Matt Edwards, Mark Veal, Brian Smith, and Mark Evans.
Imperial could have won by a bigger margin but Dean Payne (2) and Mundy slotted three conversions from 11 attempts.
Craig Skuse grabbed a hat-trick of tries but still finished on the losing side when Bristol Barbarians lost 57-24 at Wiveliscombe.
