Spotlight on West Ham: We go into game with real momentum says West Ham boss Sam Allardyce
HAMMERS boss Sam Allardyce believes his side is coming good at exactly the right time as the race for promotion to the Barclays Premier League enters its final straight.
Although West Ham remain outside of the automatic promotion places, Saturday's crushing 6-0 triumph over Brighton means they are now closing in on second-placed Southampton.
And Allardyce reckons victory in their final three fixtures against Bristol City, Leicester and Hull will be enough to secure an instant return to the top flight.
Certainly, a trip to Ashton Gate will hold no fears for the side with the best away record in the npower Championship. If West Ham's home form had been anything like as good, they would be running away with the title. The victory over Brighton was West Ham's first at Upton Park since early February and moved the Londoners to within three points of the Saints.

"It was a tremendous victory for us. I think that since Millwall at home this is close to as good as we have played," said Allardyce, whose team has rattled in 13 goals in the last three games.
A win at Ashton Gate is essential if West Ham are to keep up the pressure on Southampton, who travel to Peterborough tonight.
Allardyce said: "We are going into our next game with real momentum and, hopefully, we can win the last three.
"Scoring six goals is a massive benefit to our goal difference and we are now only three goals behind them (Saints).
"In the end, that could make a massive difference. All we can do now is win on Tuesday and hope somebody else slips up."
