Luke Sargent was the hero for Fishponds OB, keeping his nerve to net the winning penalty in a dramatic 4-3 Alf Bosley Cup semi-final penalty shoot-out victory against Almondsbury Town Reserves.

Fishponds, who have never won the trophy, play the holders, St Aldhelms, on Thursday at Yate Town (7.30pm).

The teams fought out a 1-1 draw, with Sam Payne putting Fishponds in front and Almondsbury equalising just before half-time. Jason Kirby, Sam Payne and Jason Comley scored from the spot for Fishponds in the shoot-out before Sargent struck the winning penalty.

Premier I leaders St Aldhelms won 5-0 at Stoke Gifford United and have a five-point advantage over CTK Southside. Player-manager John Berry scored a hat-trick, including a penalty, while Dale Seagers grabbed the other two goals..

James Batchelor, Kevin Seacole and James Donegan were the CTK marksmen in a 3-1 home win over South Glos (Hambrook).

Broad Plain House are fourth after beating Avonmouth 3-0 thanks to goals from Matt Batchelor, Luke Picton and Georgio Mancini.

Tom Denmead celebrated his 35th birthday with all three goals for Teyfant Athletic, who beat Old Georgians by the odd goal in five. Alex Bateman and Mo Elniake netted for Georgians.

Glenside Five OB stay just above the relegation positions, although they have won only once in the last 11 games. They crashed 5-1 at home to Ashton United, who hit four goals in a devastating 10-minute spell in the second half.

Sasha Tong scored the winner with 10 minutes to go for Cadbury Heath Reserves, who improved their chances of promotion from Premier II by beating Wessex Wanderers 3-2. Paul Bernard and Liam Planter were also on target for Heath, who are a point behind second- placed Ridings High.

Ridings High drew 2-2 at Severn Beach, whose scorers were Craig Lancastle and Luke Coughlin.

Relegation-threatened Whitchurch earned a valuable point in a goalless draw at St Aldhelms Reserves.

Jamie Davis and Ben Cummings both bagged braces for Bristol Telephones, 6-1 home winners over Bristol North West. Martin Blacker and Lee Houghton completed their tally.

Lawrence Weston and Bristol Athletic have won promotion to Premier II. Athletic are favourites for the championship. They are four points behind with four games left, while Lawrence Weston have finished their fixtures.

Tytherington Rocks Reserves finished their season in third place after beating Broad Plain House Reserves 4-0 thanks to two goals each from Pete Newton Smith and Nick Lewis.

A goal from Mark Drinkwater was enough to move Bristol Telephones Reserves out of the relegation positions at the expense of visitors Ashton Rangers.

Luke Selman (2), Matt Price and an own goal helped Filton Athletic to a 4-0 away win at Fishponds OB Reserves, while B&W Avonside Reserves beat relegated Hengrove BC 4-2 thanks to Pete Tomiak (2), Danny Holden and Joe Morris.

Division II leaders Avonmouth Reserves took their winning run to 15 games with a 5-0 victory at Keynsham Town A.

Second-placed Imperial Saints, who are a point behind with two games in hand, romped to a 5-0 win against struggling Corinthian Sports.

Oldbury Crusaders gave themselves a great chance of avoiding the drop by defeating St Aldhelms A 4-2. Lee Thomas led the way with a hat-trick and Jack Houghton added the fourth.

Aaran Pope hit a hat-trick as Southmead Athletic Reserves hammered Little Stoke Reserves 9-0. The others came from Vinny Coote (2), Sean O'Keefe (2), Mark Quinn and Marcus Williams.

The Division III title is between Mangotsfield United A and Ingleside, with both teams already promoted.

Leaders Mangotsfield United were held to a 0-0 draw at Eagle House Elite, while Ingleside are two points behind after winning 5-0 at Ashton United Reserves.

Danny Matthews scored both goals for Sefton Park, 2-1 winners at Teyfant Athletic Reserves.

Parson Street OB are making a great fight to stave off relegation. They made it 14 goals and three wins from their last three games with a 5-2 victory at Old Georgians Reserves.

Lockleaze Reserves won the big top-of-the-table clash in Division IV, beating Bristol County 2-1 to take a four-point lead over their nearest rivals. Ashley Stone and Fred Stephenson netted for Lockleaze, with Shane Budding on target for County.

St Annes Town moved out of the relegation positions by beating Coupland Insulation 3-1 with goals from Martin Quick, Scott Campho and Chris Nash.

Goals from Micky Underhill and Tom Harvey could not save Hanham Athletic Colts from a 5-2 defeat by Avonmouth A.

Lebeq United, Lawrence Weston Reserves and Cartwheel Sports are chasing the two promotion spots in Division V. The top two had no game but Cartwheel closed the gap with a 7-2 win at Winford PH Reserves. Will Jones led the scoring with four goals, with Daryl Saunders, Luke Quirke and Aaran Pearce also on target.

Oldbury Crusaders Reserves stayed in fourth place after an exciting 4-3 win at AFC Spartans.

Tony Impleton (2) and Dave Moore were the Avonmouth United scorers in a 3-2 win at Emersons Green, who replied through Gary Bennett and Josh Bennett.
