Sporting stars to shine at charity forum
Local sporting celebrities are to descend on Congresbury this month to take part in a charity sports forum.
The event, at Cadbury House Hotel Health Club and Spa, will give members of the public an opportunity to quiz local sporting heroes on the latest sporting issues.
The line up includes Bristol City Football Club manager, Gary Johnson, Bristol Rovers Football Club manager, Paul Trollope, ex England international and Bristol Rugby player, Mark Regan and ex-England international cricketer, Mark Alleyne.
The event is being hosted by Geoff Twentyman, from BBC Radio Bristol.
It is the first time an event of this kind has taken place at the Congresbury hotel.
All money raised at the event will go towards buying an incubator for premature babies at St Michael's Hospital in Bristol.
Jason Eaton, manager at the club said: "It is really great to have four such well-known, local sports personalities in one room for this charity event.
"It's also great to have Geoff Twentyman as host. I used to be a team-mate of Geoff's when we played at Bristol Rovers and we've been trying to get this event together for about a year.
"Due to his history as professional footballer and his long career as a sports correspondent we thought he would be ideal to host the forum.
"I am sure it is something that should not be missed for sports fans across the area."
The event will take place on April 29 with tickets costing £10.
Doors are to open at 7pm with hot food being available at 9.15pm from the buffet or menu.
