People are being urged to get on their bikes and help raise money towards a project to set up a community café in Yatton.

Volunteers who are behind a project to turn a redundant waiting room at the village station into a café are organising a sponsored cycle event along the Strawberry Line from Yatton to Cheddar on Sunday, May 10.

The event starts at 10.30am from the station and follows the eight-mile cycle route and path, with participants deciding how far they go.

Sponsorship forms can be downloaded at www.strawberrylinecafe.co.uk and are available at Clive's News, Yatton Post Office or the railway station.

Those not wanting to collect sponsorship for the cycle are asked to make a donation to take part in the ride of £5 per family or £3 per adult.

There will be childrens' activities along the route and refreshments will be provided at the station by The Brandon Trust.

For more information on the event, contact Faith Moulin on 01934 834282.
