Spate of car break-ins in Pill
Police are increasing patrols and urging motorists to be vigilant after a spate of thefts from cars in Pill, North Somerset.
There have been 18 reported incidents in the area in the past fortnight.
Police have been delivering crime prevention leaflets and contacting the owners of any vulnerable vehicles they see while on patrol.
Sergeant Lee Ashdown said: "We are doing everything we can to reduce incidents of car crime in Pill and will not rest until the offenders are identified and brought to justice.
"We ask that motorists remain vigilant and do everything they can to reduce opportunities for theft by ensuring that your belongings are not left on display.
"If you do need to leave items in the car, remember to put them in the boot and out of sight. If you have a stereo that has a 'face off' mechanism please ensure that you remove it every time you leave the car."
