An investigation by First Bus launched after one of its buses hit a tree in Southmead is ongoing.

The number 54 bound for Cribbs Causeway hit the tree outside the Bear and Rugged Staff public house in Southmead Road at around 9.30am on October 28.

First confirmed that two passengers were on the bus but neither they nor the driver were injured.

Avon and Somerset police closed the road for an hour and Bristol City Council was called to deal with the tree that was toppled by the collision.
