Southampton set aside pub for Bristol City travelling fans
Bristol City fans will have their own designated 'away pub' available for use in the hours before Saturday's Sky-televised Coca-Cola Championship game against Southampton at St Marys (5.20pm).
City have reached an agreement with Hampshire Police to use the Square Balloon in Above Bar Street, which is located close to Southampton railway station.

The pub opens at 11am and door supervisors will be on hand to check match tickets on entry. The venue will close at kick-off time and will not be showing the match on TV.

“An obvious attempt to hoard all City fans into one area, before escorting to the stadium. Well, I am not being herded anywhere thank you very much. Last season though was pretty lively!”

“So a pub open for 6 hours before kick off. Last seasons match at Southampton was my last away game after 10yrs of not missing a single game home or away. Why? because of drunken idiots threatening women and pensioners because they dared to ask them to sit down so they could see the game.
I just hope the police are stationed at this pub and prevent any drunks from getting anywhere near the ground.”
