Visiting South West Centre competitors took the top two awards in the experts class in the Mendip Vale Club's Brockley Cup Trial at Chilcompton on Sunday.

The three lap, 12-section event at Croxbottom was a lot easier than was anticipated, which resulted in Gary Marshman losing only one mark on a climb over tree roots in the fourth section.

His closest rival, Ben Bramwell, was immaculate in the same section on every lap – but the Crewkerne teenager dropped marks in the last two sections on a climb over rocks.

Clubman expert and Clubman class winners Jason Atwell and Hedley Ashford both retained clean sheets.

Fresh from his success in the recently completed Remedies Bar Moto-X Series, Bridgwater Honda star Brad Cavill was unbeaten in all three races in the Experts Class in the final round of the ORPA/ACU Series at Exminster, near Exeter.

The start was delayed for 45 minutes following heavy showers, but Cavill was master of the slippery conditions.

In his wake Nick Life, Paul Vallance and Gary Down disputed the minor positions in all three races.
