South Gloucestershire council tax bills frozen
COUNCIL tax in South Gloucestershire has been frozen for a third year running.
A budget backed by the three parties on the council - Liberal Democrats, Conservatives and Labour - was agreed at a meeting tonight.

It will see the authority’s element of council tax for a Band D property remaining unchanged at £1,245.20.
With precepts added from the Police and Crime Commissioner, parishes and Avon Fire & Rescue Service, the average council tax for a Band D property will be £1,539.27 from April 1.

A budget of £189 million has been set for 2013/14 for the area, which includes Kingswood, Filton, Yate and Thornbury.
It includes £26 million in cuts, with a further £17 million needed by 2014/15.
A Living Wage will be introduced in October for council staff on lower incomes.
More than 1,410 people responded to consultations on the budget and cuts.

It means eventually the CT payer will not be able to afford to live.
