Somerset all-rounder Pete Trego finished as the leading run-scorer in this weekend's Hong Kong Sixes tournament, but could not help England retain the trophy.

In his first international action since he played for England Under-19s, the Weston-super-Mare-born all-rounder's runs saw England progress to the second day with wins over India and Pakistan.

But defeats to Sri Lanka, South Africa and the hosts yesterday meant the 28-year-old's side returned home empty-handed.

Trego, who opened the batting in the six-a-side, five-over matches, scored 65 not out against Sri Lanka and a pair of 35 not outs against Pakistan and India.
