A model snowman is set to be auctioned off to raise money for Bristol hospitals.

The snowman, which featured in a popular festive television advert, was based in the John Lewis store at Cribbs Causeway over Christmas but has now been donated to Southmead and Frenchay hospitals.

The charity that supports the hospitals, Shine Together, will auction the snowman off later this year to raise money for equipment and to improve the care of patients in the area.

Alan Andrews, community liaison co-ordinator at John Lewis Cribbs Causeway said: "The John Lewis Snowman has been a real hit with customers and partners, children and adults alike and we are delighted to donate it to such a good home."
