With all the snow we've had in the region lately, many bikers have continued to keep on riding. Here are a few tips about biking in the white stuff that we've gleaned in the last week:

Stay in the tyre tracks of bikes ahead and keep rolling at a steady slow speed.

Expect the front wheel to slide about and only use the back brake. Slush has more grip than compacted wet snow. Go easy on the acceleration and double the braking distance.

Continue to show a healthy contempt for motorists who appear oblivious to safety. Watch what other road users are doing and be prepared for anything.
