Doug Newton's letter ('Time for Action', November 2) was a long time coming.

Those who complained about his lack of involvement in a series of community projects are certainly not "hysterical" as he suggests.

They see Labour councillors working to get things done as opposed to Mr Newton's sniping from the sidelines. He did the same in 2006 and 2007 and I'm sure will be true to form between now and the election.
