Slackers are caught napping by 20-goal blast
Wessex Sunday League: THERE were goals galore in the weekend Senior Division programme.
Ashton cashed in on some abysmal defending to score an incredible 20 times against The Sunday Slackers.
Slackers only fielded nine players and paid the price, with Chris Lucket, Lee Phillips and Mark Skidmore all scoring four apiece in the 20-1 defeat.
Cutters Friday also ran riot, beating Spartans FC 15-3 thanks to a five-goal haul from Richard Kot, four from Ryan Jones and a Scott Newman hat-trick.
Coalpit Shaft won 8-2 at Castle Court United, Sacha Tong and James Maidstone both scoring twice, Post Office Sports beat Friesans FC 7-3, and Fowler De Voys overcame East Dundry Eagles 2-0 thanks to goals from Ashley Milkins and John Nutland.
The goals kept coming in the lower divisions, as SCS Sunday ran out 10-0 winners away at BAWA Athletico Rserves in Division I thanks to a double hat-trick from Christopher Lewis and a Jonathan Kilpatrick hat-trick
Rhubarb Athletic's impressive start to the season continued as they saw off the challenge of City Dart Veterans with a 10-2 win.
Sporting came out on top of the big Nailsea derby after a 3-2 win at rivals Royal Oak.
Goals from Nick Allen, Richard Iles and Tom Wilkes gave Sporting the win despite strikes from Greg Davies and Dave Marriage for the home side.
