Yeovil Town boss Terry Skiverton is hoping to step up his move to sign a targetman this week, writes Nathan Jones.

Skiverton is still waiting for his first win as a manager after Walsall comprehensively beat his Glovers 2-0. The new boss admitted his side were "lightweight" and "toothless again".

He insists he will make changes for tomorrow night's vital League One game with Hereford, and he is hoping his own playing return will be "as soon as possible".

For the first time, Skiverton was critical of his players. "I feel there will be changes," he said. "I have been giving people a chance and we can't afford to wait five or six games for people to find a bit of form. We need to find a way to play and a way to compete.

"At the moment I feel we are a little bit lightweight, especially going forward. Their two forwards were holding the ball and winning a lot of flicks. We hardly won one flick so that needs to be addressed.

"I thought we looked a bit toothless again and that is a worrying sign for me because that is not the way I want to play.

"I also want to be a little bit more dynamic and not just pass it around in front of them. They had a centre forward go into centre half and he (Michael Ricketts) still had quite a comfortable game and if I was playing up front I would have found that an insult."

Skiverton has been sidelined by a foot injury but he said he would be taking anti-inflammatory tablets to accelerate his comeback.

He added that former Bristol City and Rovers striker Wayne Andrews would continue to train with the club this week.

"We will sit down at the end of the week," he said. "He is someone who will be coming into the situation and rubbing his hands. It could be an opportunity for him so we will just have to wait and see."

Danny Schofield missed Saturday's defeat with a knee problem but could be back for tomorrow night.

Goals from Troy Deeney and Alex Nicholls ensured Yeovil are now just four points above the League One relegation zone.

Meanwhile, youth team physio Phil Cole is leaving Huish Park to take up a similar role with Bristol City's academy.
