Yeovil Town boss Terry Skiverton hailed his side's 1-0 win over Northampton as the best performance of his brief spell as manager.

The Glovers moved up to 16th place in Coca-Cola League One thanks to Jon Obika's second-half goal, which earned a fully-deserved victory.

Skiverton said: "We have been working hard and as a club, including the supporters. Everyone has stayed behind me 100 per cent.

"I could feel that in these last three home games.

"A lot of other League One clubs would not have done that and we could have gone into our shells, seen the season out and not done it.

"But we have kept three clean sheets, and when you do that you have always got a chance.

"Hopefully I will be saying this again in the next few weeks but that was the best performance so far under me. The crowd was excited and I just want to create that passion throughout the club."

However, Skiverton warned his side that the battle against relegation is still far from won. "We are still not out of it," he said. "We have still got some difficult places to go to.

"We have got Stockport on Saturday but, being a manager, I can't even enjoy this win because I have got to look ahead to that. We got an absolute drubbing up there last time (they lost 5-0 in the FA Cup) and I don't want a repeat of that.

"There will be plenty more twists and turns. I said when I took over that I went to Huddersfield and Swansea in the second last games of seasons and won to stay up.

"If it means we have to go to Huddersfield and do that, we will do it."

On-loan midfielder David Noble tweaked his knee ligaments and will be monitored ahead of the Stockport trip.
