South Gloucestershire Council is arranging a series of free singing workshops for carers this month.

Workshops are open to anyone who provides care or support to a relative, friend or neighbour on a regular basis. By supporting carers and providing some fun and social time with others in similar situations, it is hoped that these workshops will pave the way for an ongoing carers choir in the area.

Sue Jaques, community engagement officer with South Gloucestershire Council, said: “You don’t need to read music, no experience of singing is required and there is no audition - the aim of the workshop is just to have some fun and enjoy singing. There is evidence that singing is beneficial for both physical and mental health, and hopefully these workshops will provide a positive and enjoyable experience for all.”
