Anyone who wants to sing is being urged to come along to the Withywood Centre to take part in the Withywood Community Choir being launched next week.

Liz Welsh will teach harmony songs in a fun way. There will be a mix of pop and gospel, sacred and secular, folk and traditional songs from all corners of the world.

Membership is open to everybody, whether they live in Withywood or not.

Liz said: "People who have never sung in a choir before shouldn't panic. They won't be thrown in at the deep end.

"If they already sing and want to have some fun, then this is the choir for them."

NHS Bristol gave £940 to support the choir's launch.

The newly formed choir will perform in a programme of Christmas Delights on Wednesday, December 16, and there will also be Carols by Candlelight led by the choir.

The choir meets on Wednesdays from 7.30pm-9pm in the Geoff Cargill Hall at the Withywood Centre, Queens Road, Withywood. The launch session on Wednesday, November 4, is free and future sessions are £3.
