Simpson-Daniel on course for Gloucester comeback against Ospreys
James Simpson-Daniel is winning his battle to be fit for Gloucester's EDF Energy Cup semi-final against Ospreys.
The winger has missed his side's last three matches after suffering a hip injury in their thrilling Guinness Premiership derby win over Bath. But he is on course to return for Saturday's Anglo-Welsh Cup semi-final clash at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry.
He said: "The injury has dragged on a little bit longer than I wanted, but I am getting over it now. I'm fit and available for Saturday."
The 26-year-old, who has scored six tries in 12 appearances this season, is expected to be joined by returning England centre Mike Tindall in the Gloucester back-line.
Olly Barkley could also be in line for a recall after starting Sunday's 14-10 defeat at Worcester on the bench, while head coach Dean Ryan will also be boosted by the return of Alasdair Strokosch and Alasdair Dickinson from international duty.
Number 8 Gareth Delve, who had been in fine form before suffering an eye injury in the recent victory over Wasps, remains doubtful.
