Had Claire not known little Kelsey Smart, she may not have recognised the symptoms and acted as quickly as she did.
Where this disease is concerned, time is of the essence.
There are no guarantees but the quicker people get their children to hospital, the more chance there is of them surviving.
Even then it can still be touch and go as Claire and her husband, Simon, discovered.
Hollie still suffered a stroke and for a time lost her speech.
But she has gone on to make a remarkable recovery.
It may be a good idea for every parent to cut out the advice panel in today's Post and keep it safe. That simple press cutting may just help to save someone's life.
