Simon Cowell to scour YouTube for hot new talent
Simon Cowell is taking his quest for talent online by enabling people to show off their skills via video auditions on YouTube.
The You Generation contest, expected to launch later this month, will allow people to display their talents by simply uploading a clip to the video-sharing website.

From wannabe singers to chefs; from make-up artists to would-be TV presenters, the quest is designed to showcase a range of talents which may not make the cut in conventional TV shows.
The search will continue for at least a year and will see a panel of experts seek out a different skill each fortnight. The quest will cover 26 territories, including the UK and Ireland, the US, Russia and much of south east Asia.

The X Factor boss's company Syco is teaming up with YouTube to launch the new contest.
