The British star - who's been wowing US audiences presenting shows such as So You Think You Can Dance and Entertainment Tonight - recently shot a stint as a guest host on the quiz show.
And it seems she did so well that head honchos at ABC think she'd be perfect as the full-time host, reports the Daily Mirror.
A source said: "Cat is the ideal presenter. She's smart, sassy and absolutely gorgeous."
The insider added that Cat, 31, has been a hit with American viewers and "has proven her worth on other shows Stateside".
And it could be a lucrative deal for the Birmingham-born star, who is now based across the pond - the Mirror claims TV bosses want to pay Cat more than one million pounds a year if she signs up.
