Amanda's hunt for a honey

Thursday, August 21, 2008, 14:56

Amanda Marchant may be singing about love in her new single with twin sister Sam, but the former Big Brother star has revealed that she's still looking for a special someone.

Samanda have teamed up with the Honey Monster on the Honey Love record, in aid of children's charity The Variety Club.

And Amanda, who briefly dated fellow housemate Brian Belo last year, says finding the right man has proved tricky since she left the Big Brother house.

"With all the travelling here, there and everywhere it's quite hard to settle down and get to know someone really really well. I just think it's harder since the BB thing to start up a relationship I guess.

"I feel like it's more difficult because people feel a bit embarrassed to come up to you maybe. People who do come up, they don't want to be like 'Oh I'm not just a fan', so it's awkward."

Fame does have its perks, however, and the girls have been using their time in the limelight to work on their music and fashion careers.

Sam said: "It's so much fun because we never thought we'd get the opportunity to do this, and when we did [previous single] Barbie Girl we just had the most amazing time so doing Honey Love was just more than exciting really, it was just so much fun."

:: Honey Love is available to download on iTunes. All proceeds go to The Variety Club Children's Charity.
