Shirehampton keep pressure on leaders with victory

Second-placed Shirehampton kept the pressure on leaders Bridgwater Town Reserves after beating Mangotsfield United Reserves 4-2 away.

Shirehampton took a 10th-minute lead through Lee Tudor. Liam Powell equalised.

The visitors regained the lead through central defender Rob Cook.

Mangotsfield hit back five minutes before half-time with a goal from Aaron Taynton. In the final ten minutes, Shirehampton regained the lead thanks to Ashley West. They clinched victory when Rich Hewett scored from the penalty spot.

Bridgwater Town were 3-0 winners at Taunton Blackbrook, but third-placed Frome Town Reserves slumped to a surprise defeat at Watchet.

Fourth-placed Cutters Friday enjoyed a 3-0 home victory over Burnham United.

They took a 25th-minute lead when Dan Webster broke from midfield to set up Ryan Bending.

Cutters added a second goal after 70 minutes when Dan Spill made a good run from half way before scoring. The home side added a third in the final minute through a Spill near post header.

Nailsea United took a 20t-minute lead at Bishops Lydeard when a defender turned a cross from Ben Cook past his own keeper. The home side equalised a minute before the interval. Straight from restart, Bishops Lydeard broke away to take a 2-1 lead.

Nailsea were back on level terms on the hour mark when Matt Collins broke from half way. His mazy run left three defenders in his wake before he set up Joe Berry to score.

In Division One, Fry Club's hopes of catching leaders St George Easton in Gordao took a dent when they crashed to a 3-0 defeat at third-placed Ilminster Town.

St George, won 5-1 at Saltford. Brislington Reserves were 3-0 home winners over Peasedown Athletic thanks to hat-trick from Lee Perks.
