Shirehampton look to bounce back
Shirehampton manager Steve Winter will be looking for his Premier Division title hopefuls to bounce back immediately for the visit of Nailsea United.
Shire suffered a surprise 3-2 defeat at home to Bishops Lydeard last week and Winter is hoping it was a just a one-off reverse.
"How we lost that match I don't know," said Winter. "We had so many chances but just couldn't put the ball in the net."
Winter has a full-strength squad available to face Nailsea, who are currently lying 10th – 10 points adrift of their second-placed opponents.
Cutters Friday boss Neil Soper will persist with makeshift striker Gavin Cabble as they take on fellow promotion hopefuls Taunton Blackbrook.
"I have struggled to find a first team striker so threw this young lad into the deep end and Gavin has done really well for us," said Soper.
"He scored in last week's 5-4 win against Castle Cary and we will stick with him."
Paul Jones will continue in defence after making a return to the first team after an 18-month absence.
Fry Club goalkeeper Anthony Cains will have a fitness test on a foot injury before the local derby at home to Keynsham Town Reserves.
"I think he should be okay," said Fry boss Malcolm Fry.
Division One leaders Fry Club will be looking to complete the double over their neighbours, who are 10 points behind in fourth, but Fry expect a tough battle.
"A lot of the lads know each other so there will be a lot of pride at stake," added Fry. "They will want to avenge that 3-1 defeat over Christmas."
Tom Hurley will make a welcome return to the Mangotsfield United Reserves squad for the match at Burnham United.
"Tom has been out for at least a season after breaking his wrist and having a lot of problems afterwards," said Field's reserve team manager Tim Britton. "It will be nice to have him back in the squad."
St George Easton in Gordano could take over top spot in the First Division if they beat struggling Westland United and Fry Club slip up against Keynsham Town Reserves.
