New Shirehampton manager Mickey Tanner is confident that his side will come good despite a faltering start to the new campaign.

Shire head to last year's champions, Bridgwater Reserves, tomorrow still looking for their first win after a draw and two defeats, including a 3-0 reverse against Taunton Blackbrook on Wednesday night.

"I think our pre-season was disruptive, so it is going to take a little more time for everyone to settle down," said Tanner.

"The chairman is backing me and saying that we must all stick together and keep on fighting. I'm not too worried yet, as it is early days, and I have been quite encouraged with some of the things we are doing."

Tanner welcomes back Richard Hewitt and Lee Tudor for tomorrow's game, but has lost skipper Andrew Gibson and striker Ryan McCall to injuries.

"Going to Bridgwater looking for our first win will be tough, but we always create chances," added Tanner. "We just have to tighten up at the back."
