Sherbourne second in Salisbury and South Wilts pro-am
Andrew Sherborne produced a blistering finale to claim second place in the Salisbury and South Wilts pro-am, one shot behind Weymouth's Jon Bevan (Wessex Golf Centre).
The Kendleshire player was never seriously in contention until he eagled the par five 16th with a monster 40-foot putt and added a birdie at the par-three closing hole for a four-under 67 worth almost £600.
Giuseppe Licata (Hambrook) would have claimed fourth spot in the Titleist Footjoy league at Stinchcombe Hill after shooting one-under-par 67.
But he received a two-shot penalty for playing the wrong ball to finish in a tie for 11th.
Tom Widley (Bristol) completed his best finish in he region on 68. Licata has pledged never to take his playing partner's word when it comes to identifying the correct ball.
