GORDON Brand Jnr and Andrew Sherborne both missed the halfway cut on their debuts in the United States PGA Seniors Open at the tough Jack Nicklaus-designed Harbour Shores course in Michigan.

Brand (Players Club) shot five-over-par 76 followed by 74 while Sherborne (Kendleshire) carded 79 and 78.

Saltford's Shane Winstone, pictured, included seven birdies in a five-under-par round of 65 on the second day of the Europro Tour event at Bovey Castle in Devon after an opening 70. But three triple bogeys in a third round 78 sent him tumbling from seventh to 41st.

Dan Perrett (Clevedon) was 50th but former US Tour player John Morgan (Clevedon), Adam Carson (Long Ashton), Charlie Cossins (Bath) and Luke Collins (Mendip Spring) missed the cut.
