Seven million visit Cabot Circus in three months
Shopping centre Cabot Circus received seven million visits in its first three months of opening, said centre director Richard Belt.
The figures, from its opening on September 25 to December 21 last year, put the centre on course to exceed its target of 25 to 26 million visitors in its first year.

Mr Belt said the Cabot Circus car park had 320,000 cars, which had stayed for an average of three hours.
He said: "Those numbers have already put Bristol back into the top 10 shopping destinations in the country and the signs are we are going to more than double the numbers coming to Bristol."

“I can't understand that bristol gets a new shopping centre which has shops that have come here for the first time also there is a harvey nichols only a few in the uk and people are still not happy . Parts of broadmead looked like a right dump before now it looks a lot better dont people want more choice also more jobs plus if there are more visits there is a chance that more big names will come to bristol .”

“Cabot Circus may have a target of 25-26 million VISITS, but that isn't the same thing as being visited by 25-26 million PEOPLE.
Most, if not all, visits are by people who are returning or will return. The same individuals are counted over and over again.
The Evening Post seems not to understand this crucial basic distinction, which I must have pointed out at least six times. Or, by the Evening Post's terms, which six different people have pointed out.”

“What the BEP failed to mention was out of those 7 million 0.5 million were workmen, shop staff, reporters, competition judges etc. 4.4 million were pigeons, rats and seagulls and the other 0.6 million where shoplifters, other assorted thieves and homeless people looking for somewhere to shelter. No actual customers have visited Carboot circus yet...!”
