Seeking origin of my name
My middle name is Templar, something I have passed down to my children and grand-children.
Looking at the 1930 Kelly's Directory for Bristol, I've noticed that there were approximately 20 Templar/Temple families, mostly living in the Dings and Bedminster areas, not far from the Blitzed Temple church.

This has got to be more than a coincidence and suggests that the Templar families stayed put in the area.
Looking at the 1938 version of Kelly's I discovered that some of the families had migrated to Clifton and Sneyd Park.

The numbers of Templar/Temple families had grown by then to approximately 30.
I seem to recall seeing somewhere that the Grand Order of Templars held their annual meeting in St Mary Redcliffe church.
Do any BT readers have any more information about this?

“Are we talking the real Medieval Templars or some Victorian romantic resurrection?”
