Hornets' junior section was set up 31 years ago and has gone from strength to strength, running sides at every age group from under-sevens to Colts.

Hornets were one of the first clubs in the area to be awarded with its RFU Seal of Approval and presently have a level 2 accreditation.

The Weston-based club has enjoyed success with many of its age groups. Several former youth players now represent the club at either Academy, County or District level.

Last season their under-17s achieved an impressive double by lifting the Somerset Cup as well as the Bristol Combination Cup.

Their under-16s side reached the final of the Somerset Cup, while their under-15s also made an appearance in the final of the Combination Plate.

Several of their age groups have played on the hallowed turf at Twickenham, representing the club in the Gulliver's tournament, and their youth section has toured France, Spain, Belgium and Poland.

Former Hornets players include London Welsh head coach Danny Wilson, USA Eagle Jason Kayter, who played in the Rugby World Cup, Bath's Jack Cuthbert and former Wales Under-18 international Jack Gadd.

Anyone who is interested in joining Hornets should contact Baz Collins on 07985 807422 or go to the club's website, www.hornetsrugby.net.
