Youngsters and supporters of the 2nd Clevedon Scout Group cycled more than 400 miles between them during a sponsored ride to raise funds for Children's Hospice South West.

Sixty members of all ages – including Beavers, Cubs and Scouts together with adult leaders – tackled routes of varying length along the Strawberry Line cycle path between Yatton and Cheddar. Many of the oldest Scouts completed the route from Yatton to Cheddar and back.

All of the cyclists raised money for CHSW, one of the Scout group's nominated charities. It cares for children with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions and provides hospice care and support for them and their families.

Cub leader Glynn Hill said: "It was brilliant. All of them completed the rides and we only had one fall off their bike.

"I was really pleased with them all. Everyone did great and everyone really enjoyed it because they all like cycling.

"Some of them didn't realise that the ride we did between Cheddar and Yatton even existed, so I hope they will be back for more in the future."
