Scott Murray Launches Olympic Sports Day at Bridge Learning Campus
Scott Murray, the Bristol City footballing legend, was at Bridge Learning Campus (BLC) today to open its Olympic Sports Day. Hundreds of excited pupils and staff welcomed "The Flying Scotsman" to the official launch of their Olympic themed Sports Day, which has 25+ events planned for Tuesday 26th June.
The brand new campus in Hartcliffe, built just 3 years ago, is a revolutionary all through school with a highly successful secondary school as well as a Primary and a special school on its purpose built premises. Scott started proceedings by entering with an "Olympic Torch", which had been built by Bridge's Engineering Department. To a rousing welcome, Scott spoke to the school about his early days in Aberdeen and how he never gave up, despite not be scouted until the age of nineteen.

Scott Murray at Bridge Learning Campus
Hard work and never giving up were the lessons Scott passed on to the assembled school children and he spoke of his determination to train well and his desire to learn from his coaches. "Listen to your coaches," he told the pupils at Bridge Learning Campus, "they are there to help you and develop your skills. Keep focused on your goals and don't give up."
Scott, scorer of 100 goals across 400+ league appearances, then picked out 32 countries for each of the teams at Bridge to represent on their Sports Day. Team Italy did not get that rousing a welcome!
