Scores of people back campaign
ON behalf of the Bishopsworth pool development steering group, may I thank those local people who attended our well-supported community workshop last Saturday to map out the future use of the now-closed community pool.
Scores of residents demonstrated their passion for re-thriving a central Bishopsworth hub and ensuring that it plays as important a place in the future of the village as it has in the past. Over the coming weeks, the steering group will assess the half a dozen proposals we have received against the criteria for acceptance developed by the community.
Our recommendation for future uses of the pool site will go into a report which will be considered by the Dundry View Neighbourhood Partnership on March 25.
The following day the mayor of Bristol, George Ferguson, is due to visit the former public baths and hopefully the next stage in the life of this important site will have begun.
