Schools and choirs from across Bristol have been singing carols in Cabot Circus to raise money for charity.

In just nine days they collected more than £2,200 for Ronald McDonald House which provides a home from home for parents whose seriously ill children are being treated at Bristol Children's Hospital.

More than 800 singers, young and old, sang festive favourites for passers-by.

Torwood House School choristers were the stars, raising £403 in just an hour.

Louise Cook, fundraiser for Ronald McDonald House Bristol said: "We wanted to bring some festive cheer to shoppers as they prepare for Christmas and raise money to support those who will be spending Christmas away from home to be close to their children."
