Schools get cash to revamp playgrounds
Pupils at Cheddar Grove Primary School, Bedminster Down, were jumping for joy after hearing that their playground is to receive a £4,000 facelift.
Their excitement is shared by pupils at Holymead Infant School in Brislington and St Bernard's R C Primary School in Shirehampton who have also been given the same news. The transformation of the playgrounds comes as part of the Supergrounds programme, which has already improved more than 500 school sites across the country.

Cheddar Grove Primary School plans to develop an outdoor stage on the playing field to enhance its outdoor creative art scene and host its annual summer Gig at the Grove.
It was nominated for Supergrounds, which is run by RBS group, by parent Joanne Drissell, who works at NatWest's Knowle branch.
Joanne said: "This scheme is an ideal way for us to improve the school grounds to help the children develop."
Head teacher Paul Jeffery said: "The Supergrounds project will enable us to involve the children in the design and construction of outdoor spaces for the performing arts.
"We have already developed parts of our grounds for sporting activities; this project will add another dimension to our curriculum beyond the classroom."
