Scheme to repair Backwell road to start in New Year
A SCHEME to repair a damaged road in Backwell is to start in the New Year.
The work to repair the damaged edges of Downside Road is costing £38,000 and will start on January 7 and take four weeks to complete.
A diversion will be put in place when needed on weekdays, off peak between 9.30am and 3.30pm.
The closure points will be manned to allow residents' access and temporary traffic lights will operate at other times until the work is complete.

A council spokesman said:." There may be some delays to travellers, but all road users are asked to be patient during these essential works."
The diversion route will follow the A370, B3133 and A38 and vice versa.
