Sat nav stolen in Clevedon gives directions in Japanese
Thieves stole a satellite navigation system from a car in Clevedon – only to discover it was programmed in Japanese.
Raiders broke into the car, which was parked outside the Bengal Spice restaurant, at Queens Road, during the early hours of Saturday and stole the equipment from the glove box.
It is understood that the owner had put the sat nav in the glovebox because it was programmed in Japanese and he was unable to change it.

“Who's to say that the thieves weren't Japanese and therefore extremely happy at finding a sat nav they could use?
Nevertheless an incredibly poor story...”

“How does the reporter know that the thieves discovered the SatNav was in Japenses? Did he/she speak to them?
The thieves may not even be aware of the "problem". The SatNav may have been out of charge and they haven't turned it on yet. They may have thrown it away or sold it on.
Poor reporting.”
