Saqib and Imran strike a blow for Pak Bristolians

Favourites Pak Bristolians eased to an 81-run victory against one of their Senior Division title rivals Hampset.

Nadeem Hussain (38) and Saqib Butt (90 from 123 balls, including 11 fours and a six) put on 97 for the first wicket. Richard Wright took 4-56.

Imram Butt claimed 6-42 as Hampset made 133-9 in 45 overs.

Tom Armfield, not for the first time this summer, starred with bat and ball as Almondsbury secured a second straight win against Cleeve.

The captain finished four runs short of a half century as the South Gloucestershire side made 175. Liam Hartigan made 40 with John Hence taking 4-57.

Cleeve's reply was 126 with Armfield (5-30) and Fraser Pepall (3-15) the pick of the bowlers.

Failand & Portbury claimed a four-run victory against Chew Magna. Alastair McArthur (38) and Ed Humphreys (58) were the leading batsmen for Failand, Dave Taylor claimed 5-66, before Chew were all out for 207 on the penultimate ball of the innings. Dave Filer top scored with 43.

N Armstrong (60 not out), C Bridge (50 not out) and M Franklin (51) guided Portishead to a four-run victory against Bristol Asians.

Jason Loud was five runs short of a century but finished on the losing side when St Mary Redcliffe were beaten by three wickets by Twyford House. Neil Hall made 81 not out.

In Division One, Dave Gardner hit 37 and took 4-54 as Old Down won by 12 runs when they brought leaders Hanham's 100 per cent start to an end. Saqib hit 74 in Bristol Pakistanis' three-run win against Bradley Stoke. Bhushan Mankar made 95 for Bradley Stoke.

Darren Wesson clinched 56 as Coalpit Heath claimed a one-wicket win against Frampton Cotterell off the last ball of the innings. Nav Nayak hit 87 for Frampton.

In Division Two, K Britton scored 113 and took 5-39 in Woodpeckers' 61-run win against Lodway. Charlie Kelly matched that feat by scoring 108 and took 5-34, including a hat-trick, as Stoke Bishop won by 54 runs against Gordano Valley.

Patchway beat St George Roman Glass by eight wickets thanks to Neil Millard (55) and Mark Britton (39).

In Division Three, J Hood (109) and J Fox (111) both claimed hundreds as Barrow Gurney and Pucklechurch won against Abbots Leigh and Old Elizabethans respectively.

Sahil Patel claimed 7-28 for Bristol Indians in his team's eight-wicket success against Bishop Sutton.

● Lee Shawney hit 159 not out as Bedminster A made 280-5 before St Mary Redcliffe finished on 125 in Division One 2nd XI.
