Salisbury sign Webb
Salisbury City, who have been forced to allow seven players to leave this month due to their financial problems, signed striker Danny Webb yesterday.
They also brought in 19-year-old Charles Ademeno on loan from Southend United until the transfer deadline in January earlier in the week.
Webb, the son of former Chelsea player Dave Webb, had a spell at Yeovil Town when his father was at the club but has recently been playing in Malta. He will come into the squad for today's game against York if clearance comes through in time.
Ademeno can play as a striker or wide on the flanks and he goes straight into the squad for today.
Also returning after injury are defenders Tim Bond and Djoumin Sangare to give some solidarity to a side which has been torn to pieces with Robbie Matthews, Andy Sandell, Matt Tubbs, Ryan Clarke, Wayne Turk, Andy Cook and Liam Feeney, who joined Southend United yesterday, all leaving for other clubs.
Salisbury City (from): Bittner, Clohessy, Bass, Hill, Dutton, Davies, Maher, Robinson, Sinclair, Griffin, Ruddick, D Clarke, Bond, Sangare, Ademeno, Webb.
Weymouth fans have been bracing themselves this week as the crisis-torn club looked to offload several players on loan deals in a major-cost cutting exercise.
But the terrific news for supporters ahead of today's clash with Mansfield at the Wessex Stadium is that no players will be leaving now – certainly not until the New Year as talk of takeovers and possible mergers continue at the club.
Amid all these troubles the Terras welcome struggling Mansfield today.
Home supporters will be further heartened to hear that local boy James Coutts returns following a hamstring problem while experienced duo Santos Gaia and Chris McPhee are welcomed back from suspension.
On the downside, striker Stuart Beavon (suspension) misses out.
Weymouth: Knowles, Mawer, Gaia, Doe, Sandwith, Robinson, Williams, Coutts, Collins, Reed, McPhee, Cutler, Webb, Barnard, Joseph-Dubois, Bygrave.
