Saints boost hopes of beating the drop as Sneyd move closer to title
Clifton St Vincents improved their survival hopes in Division I with a battling 3-2 win over Bristol Barcelona.
Barca led twice through Matt Roberts and Nigel Hunt, but strikes by Roger Britland and Mark Humphries, plus an own goal, sealed three vital pojnts for Saints.
Leaders Sneyd Park made no mistake with a 5-0 win against Torpedo. Player boss Gareth Browning led the way with a superb hat-trick and was joined on the scoresheet by Colm Golden and Jac Jones. Substitute James Stevens should have netted a sixth but failed to connect with the ball when one on one with the keeper.
Lawes Juniors kept up the pressure on Sneyd with a 2-0 victory against AFC Bohemia. Paul Brown hit both goals but Lawes still trail the leaders by seven points and have played a game more.
Retainers edged out Hare on the Hill 2-1 thanks to Andrea Maestri and a superb 30 yard drive from Chris Hawkins. Matt Duff replied for Hare from the penalty spot.
Easton Cowboys pipped Jamaica Bell 4-3 in a seven-goal thriller. Phil Arnold, Ben Ricketts and a double from Andy Hamilton-Dunn gave Cowboys the points, while Dave Alexis (2) and Rob Morris-Bilal netted for the Bell.
Ashley and Cotswool drew 2-2. Dale Hamman hit both goals for Ashley, but Nima Khajavi and a Tom Dudley penalty pulled Cotswool level.
Sporting Greyhound took four points from a double fixture with Portland Old Boys. They won the first game 2-0 thanks to Adam Chequer and Nico Schweigerts, while the second match finished 0-0.
A Ricky George goal gave Division II leaders Saints Old Boys a 1-0 win against Torpedo Reserves.
Rich Hart (2), Ed Moody (2), James Stanley and an own goal fired Cabot AF to a 6-3 victory over Clifton Rockets, who replied through Josh Graham (2) and a Gavin Smith own goal.
Luke Allen netted a consolation goal for St Andrews in a 3-1 defeat by Sneyd Park Reserves, whose sharp-shooters were Steve Rees (2) and Ben Bishop, while Hydez FC drew 3-3 with TM Lion thanks to Ashley Webb (2) and Owen Jennings.
Chris Wilson (2) and Olly Neil were on the mark for AFC Bohemia Reserves, 3-1 winners against Cotswool Reserves, whose scorer was Jeff Hayle.
Division III leaders Easton Cowboys Reserves thumped Jersey Rangers 8-0, Nathan Stokes leading the scoring spree with four goals.
Paul Cannon hit Sneyd Park A's consolation goal in a 4-1 defeat by Clifton Rockets Reserves, while Torpedo A beat Portland Old Boys Reserves 4-1 thanks to Shane Stevenson (2), Tim Frost and Tom Whitlock, with Clint Lune narrowing the gap.
In Division IV, a Rich Hayne double earned DDAS a 2-2 draw with TM Lion Reserves, whose marksmen were Seb Skilinski and Kevin Quigley.
Dan Eddolls hit four goals as Conham Rangers defeated Retainers A 6-3, Scott Bullock (2) and Steve Allen were on target as Vittoria Inn beat AFC Tebby Reserves 3-0, while Rob Lee earned Severnside a 1-1 draw with Wellington Wanderers.
